FIX: DVD ROM is not working, it spines and stops

I got a request on the above headline few days back and have desided to make an helpful post on it.
A lot of people get problems with their CD/DVD ROM day-in-day-out. I believe after reading this, you would confidently be able to fix anyproblem with you CD/DVD ROM.

Now the target here is; My DVD ROM is not working, when you put a disk in it, it spines and stop. What is the problem.

There are four suspects on this issue.

1) Your ROM might be weak at that moment, so you need to wait a while - 20mins and restart to FIX

2) The CD/DVD plate you incerted might have lots of scraches or damages, so you would have to get another one.

3) The CD/DVD type and the DVD ROM type are not compatible with each other. Below are the compatible ones;

  • A Blue-ray DVD ROM can play a Blue-ray, DVD and CD disc.
  • A DVD ROM can play only a DVD and CD disc
  • A CD ROM can play only CD disc
So check the compatibity to FIX

4) The Lens inside the CD/DVD ROM might be damaged, so you need to replace the ROM with a new one.

Hyatt Hotel Says Payment Systems Hacked with Credit-Card Stealing Malware

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is notifying its customers that credit card numbers and other sensitive information may have been stolen after it found malware on the computers that process customer payments. "We recently identified malware on computers that operate the payment processing systems for Hyatt-managed locations," the company announced on Wednesday.
