Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are not SAFE

Its really interesting - the post title of this article. Do you believe? If you are an IT person like me, then you have to. Although don't be scared if you are not. Checkout the article by CERT India below and see why.

Agencies like CERT are taking every possible step to secure your life online. And why not! Most of our lives are connected and our virtual lives are public property. From social networking account hacks, fruit photo hack attacks, online credit card forgeries to bitcoin robberies, the world of internet can indeed be damaging.
A browser is our window to the World Wide Web and also, to the online dangers that ponder therein. Warning the Indian internet users, the Computer Emergency And Response Team Of India have claimed in a report that massively popular web browsers Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are very sensitive to online attacks. “Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Google Chrome which could be exploited by a remote attacker to cause denial of service condition or execute arbitrary code on the target system”, CERT-India said.

As per CERT-In, numerous vulnerabilities have been diagnosed in Chrome and Firfox alike. The browsers can be easily overrun by bypassing security restrictions and the hackers can get access to sensitive information, gain escalated privileges, and execute arbitrary code that causes “denial of service” attack.

In simple words, “Denial of Service” or DoS attack makes a website or an application obsolete and restricts it from doing what it’s designated to do. Also, under a DoS attack, the hacker can execute an arbitrary command and gain access to personal and sensitive information. Using Mozilla on a smartphone can result in unwanted downloading, stealth attacks on personal information and memory corruption.
